For a long time now, Gruaud Larose has been practicing draconian methods to take care of every single plant. Perfectly loyal to the wine’s natural form of expression, Georges Pauli and his team were among of the first in their field to use organic methods for protection and defence of the vine plants (organic compost, water centre...). Gruaud Larose has been one of the first estates to ban insecticides, pesticides and herbicides in the vineyard during the late nineties and replaced them by sexual confusion technique in the vineyard and a great amount of mechanical works.
